Re-use, re-duce, re-think! GreenHomeNYC's design challenge sponsored by Inhabitat.com, Film Biz Recycling, and Build It Green! NYC

GreenHomeNYC is searching for industrious, creative and environmentally conscious designers to create sustainable furniture for their public lounge space at this Fall’s Williamsburg block party, The NEW New York. In the end, a group of ten selected finalists will work together and with our judges to created individual yet cohesive works that will be exhibited in our Garden Lounge. Winners will have access to a wealth of free, reclaimed materials donated by Film Biz Recycles and Build it Green, a jury of recognized architects and designers to offer creative support, and public press through our blog which will follow the work of the finalists.

Alex Weber is originally from Bloomington, IL. He attend Southern Illinois University Carbondale, where he is on the U.S. Green Building Council student board. Alex will graduate this spring (2012) with a Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture. He plans on attending Graduate School next year with the goal of receiving a Master’s Degree in Sustainable Architecture and Urban Design
His interests pertaining to the fields of Art and Architecture include Ecology, Socially Responsible Design for the Public, and Artistic Expressionism through sketching and painting.
